As an Italian-American woman, I have continued to gain more and more of an appreciation of the value of La Dolce Vita. So what is La Dolce Vita? We’ve heard that saying so often and know it means “The Sweet Life” but what does that really mean?
Growing up in an Italian house luckily has given me a better idea of a typical Italian family. The kitchen table was the place where you ate, you entertained family & friends, you talked about what was happening in your life, you laughed, you cried…This was Home. This is where it all took place. Family, Food & Friendship!
What more could we want from life? The Italians hold all three at a higher esteem than any other culture. No wonder so many are drawn to the seductive hills of Italy, luscious and comforting Italian Food and yearn for a higher level of connection with our friends and family. Many of our cultures have lost their values to the benefit of a more socio-economic and goods driven society. I’m just now beginning to fully understand what my natural heritage has deemed as a standard way of life that unfortunately seems so foreign to todays younger families. All I can say is they don’t know what they’re missing.
I hope to use this venue to share Everything Italian…..food, clothing, skincare, leather goods, art, travel tips, etc.
I look forward to your comments and requests.
Tutto il mio migliore a lei!
